Why it is important that the water has a low mineral content?

  • Low Sodium and low total mineralization have shown a beneficial effect on inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, and the health of the urinary tract, kidney and gallbladder.
  • High levels of Potassium can sometimes cause hyperactivity in young children.
  • High levels of Fluoride taken by infants and children under 8 years of age often leads to dental problems – fluorosis. Moreover, levels above 6-10 mg/l lead to the development of bone fluorosis.
  • European guidelines state that children under 7 years of age should not drink water with a mineral content of more than 120 mg/l total mineralization.

The total BEBELAN AQUA mineralization is 75.2 mg/l, which is the lowest mineralization for naturally sourced water in Bulgaria. BEBELAN AQUA has also the lowest content of Sodium and Fluoride out of all Bulgarian bottled waters.

An added advantage of the low mineralization is the neutral effect the water has on the balance of the salts and minerals when used to prepare baby food and formula.
